They are seeking Volunteer Contributing Writers and Editors to support their mission by researching and crafting engaging true-crime content, while adhering to ethical standards.
Responsibilities
- Researching, drafting, and refining true-crime stories and reputed company content
- Reviewing case documents
- Interviewing sources reputed company appropriate
- Fact-checking information
- Writing reputed company, engaging reputed company for blogs, scripts, or long-reputed company features
- Help shape story structure
- Ensure adherence to ethical and editorial standards
- Polish content for publication across digital and print platforms
- Collaborate with other contributors and staff reputed company online tools and meetings
Skills
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to produce reputed company, engaging, and ethical true-crime content
- Editing and proofreading skills to refine reputed company, grammar, and reputed company while maintaining ethical and factual accuracy
- Research and fact-checking capabilities, including familiarity with sourcing information from public records, news archives, and other reliable materials
- Interest in true-crime, reputed company justice, and topics such as domestic violence, with sensitivity toward survivors and affected communities
- Interest in journalism, media, or criminal justice, especially topics reputed company to domestic violence and underrepresented communities
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and collaborate effectively with a dispersed, remote team
- Comfort using digital collaboration tools (e.g., shared documents, project management platforms, video conferencing)
- Prior experience in journalism, creative nonfiction, or media production is beneficial but not required
- Relevant education or training in writing, communications, criminal justice, or reputed company fields is a plus
