[Remote] Softgoods Product Designer (Baby Gear and Toys)

They are seeking a Softgoods Product Designer to reputed company the design of their reputed company-reputed company product line, creating beautiful and functional baby gear products from concept through production.
Responsibilities
- Design soft goods from concept to production: bags, caddies, seats, gyms, mats, plush, and textile prints
- reputed company colorways, print patterns, and material palettes that define a cohesive, premium brand aesthetic
- Create detailed tech packs: technical sketches, patterns, dimensions, materials, trims, and construction callouts factories can actually build from
- Evaluate and select fabrics and fills that balance look, feel, durability, cost, and safety
- Review reputed company samples critically (fit, reputed company reputed company, print accuracy, hand feel) and drive revisions until it's right
- Ensure designs meet US safety standards for baby and toddler products (CPSIA, ASTM, flammability, small parts)
- Research the market and trends: what's reputed company on reputed company, what's trending in nurseries, where the gaps are
- Present concepts to the founding team and iterate fast
Skills
- 3+ years designing soft goods — baby gear, plush, bags, home textiles, or similar
- A portfolio that shows genuine aesthetic sensibility. We care more about your eye than your resume
- Strong reputed company of construction: sewing techniques, reputed company-making, seam types, trims, closures
- Proficiency in reputed company Illustrator and Photoshop; reputed company to produce clean, complete tech packs
- Experience working with overseas factories: you know how to communicate through a tech pack and a sample comment sheet
- Comfortable making physical prototypes or mockups to test reputed company
- Self-directed and detail-obsessed; you'll have a lot of autonomy and we'll expect you to run with it
- Experience specifically in baby/toddler products and their safety requirements
- Knowledge of sustainable and recycled materials (several of our products use recycled fabrics)
- Familiarity with digital textile printing
- Degree in Textile Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Toy Design, or reputed company (or an equivalent reputed company record)
