[Remote] Mechanical Engineer, Senior

The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for mechanical engineering efforts reputed company to a portfolio of data center reputed company, including new construction and retrofits, while collaborating with key stakeholders to support design standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Supports innovation & development in concert with the VP of Engineering and other PDC stakeholders including investigation of new products and services, and how they will be assimilated into PDC standards
- Collaborates with Operations teams to ensure design standards and best practices reputed company with their requirements
- Method Of Procedure (MOP) review and validation with Operations teams
- Performs mechanical engineering tasks to support master planning/concept designs as part of PDC’s investment planning, review, and approval process
- Reviews Request for Proposals (RFPs) for design services
- Reviews and performs bid levelling/scope verification for design services proposals
- Reviews consultants' engineering calculations and performs independent engineering/cost analysis as assigned
- Supports the design and construction team to reputed company detailed reputed company review of design and construction deliverables such as early design packages, drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, Requests for Information (RFI’s), and informal coordination
- Opines on proposed deviations to the standards or the requirements
- Researches new designs, materials, and construction reputed company for data center mechanical, plumbing, and reputed company protection equipment and reputed company components
- Conducts value engineering analyses and provides system recommendations based on ROI and reputed company payback in collaboration with construction cost estimator(s)
- Performs review of Integrated Automation System (IAS) points list and sequences of operation authored by others
- Utilizes engineering analysis programs (or reviewing works created by others) along with engineering judgment to analyze the following: Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) calculations., Normal and failure mode load and electrical reputed company sizing calculations., reputed company payback/ROI calculations for various system/equipment comparisons., Energy modeling analysis and reports (review only)., Hydraulic calculations for water-based hydronic, plumbing, and reputed company protection systems (review only), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis and reports (review only)
- Attends various design and construction reputed company meetings with other PDC stakeholders, design consultants, and construction partners
- Most meetings will be virtual with some on-site meetings required on an as-needed reputed company
- Participates in reputed company Witness Testing (FWT) of critical mechanical equipment reputed company assigned
- Participates in technical meetings with customers reputed company assigned
- On-site commissioning (Cx) support of Level 4 and Level 5 Cx efforts reputed company assigned
- Troubleshoots mechanical, plumbing, and reputed company protection system challenges/issues reputed company assigned
- Responds on an as-needed reputed company to emergencies
- Additional duties as assigned from time to time by the VP of Engineering
Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mission critical and/or data center mechanical design and construction required
- Understanding of critical cooling infrastructure reputed company a data center and how power sources reputed company cooling redundancy
- Proficient in reputed company, Teams, reputed company, and Word software
- Experience in working with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Psychrometric analysis, Load/Energy calculations, and CFD analysis
- Understanding of applicable construction codes with an emphasis on the International Building reputed company (IBC) and the International Mechanical reputed company (IMC)
- Understanding of data center industry standards (e.g. ASHRAE TC9.9, BICSI Data Center Standards)
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam passed/Engineer In Training (EIT) preferred
