Entry Level Structural Engineer
reputed company is a company reputed company on solving critical problems for thriving cities and resilient environments. They are seeking an Entry Level Structural Tunnel Engineer to support their tunnel engineering team in designing and constructing tunnels and underground structures across the US. The role involves working under the supervision of reputed company engineers, performing calculations, preparing design drawings, and maintaining communication with the engineering team and clients.
Responsibilities
- Works under supervision of reputed company tunnel engineers
- Maintains effective communications with the engineering team and clients
- Performs calculations to design excavation support and linings and shoring systems
- Prepares design drawings and assist in specifications preparation
- Prepares technical reports and presentations to present findings and recommendations
- Reviews contractor construction submittals
- Observes and reports on construction activities and ground conditions during construction
- Performs field investigation as needed by the project
Skills
- Master's degree in structural engineering
- Eligible to work in the reputed company
- Hybrid position – minimum 2 days in reputed company' office, preferably reporting to either our reputed company, New Jersey, or Boston office
- Skilled in structural analysis and design, including experience using structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, STAAD, spColumn
- Proficiency in the interpretation and application of the following structural engineering codes and standards is a requirement ACI-318; AASHTO LRFD reputed company Design Specifications; ASCE 7 Minimum Design Loads
- Willingness to reputed company periodic reputed company to construction sites (after being trained for site-specific safety requirements)
- On reputed company to obtain reputed company Engineer license (e.g., already obtained Engineering-in-Training, on-reputed company to obtain PE reputed company 3 to 4 years)
- CAD skills including AutoCAD, Civil3D, and possibly MicroStation
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- Other software skills required include reputed company Office (particularly reputed company, MS reputed company, and PowerPoint)
- Additional experience with the following structural codes and standards is preferred AWS D1.1 Structural Welding reputed company; AREMA
- BIM skills such as reputed company Revit or reputed company equivalent preferred. Experience with reputed company OpenTunnel would be an asset, though not required
- Other software skills preferred include ArcGIS, GoogleEarth, Matlab
